A new engine or just a fuel pump for the 2013 LR4 5.0L HSE LUX???
Просмотров 783 месяца назад
After being told the engine was blown due to a timing chain failure we acquired this 2013 LR4 5.0L HSE LUX for $1,000 from a family member and rolled the dice to see if we could fix the issue with new timing chains or by other means other than engine rebuild or replacement. I recognize that I will probably get tons of laughs and comments but the prior ownership experience from our family member...
Kodiak Disc Brake Pads - how do you bend the outer pad tab down
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.4 года назад
Transporting your rig safely down the highway and reducing your risk of destroying any trip requires regular trailer maintenance. This video is the result of 3 years of experience after a second install of Kodiac Disc Brakes on my dual axle Magic Tilt trailer. Over that time I found an easier way to bend the tabs on the outer brake pad downward onto the caliper thereby saving you tons of aggrav...
I paid $700 for $1,500 Stainless Steel Kodiak trailer brakes
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
After two brake jobs and waiting years I decided to upgrade to Kodiak Stainless Steel 225 disc brakes, calipers, rotors and mounting brackets after using the same version of the part in Dacromet. If you are submersing your trailer in salt water, do not buy or install Dacromet. My Magic Tilt tandem axle trailer for my Everglades 243cc came this way and other than swapping the leaf spring axles f...

Gear to Never Leave Your Driveway Without When Towing Your Boat
Просмотров 2925 лет назад
Are you prepared to risk a day on the water being completely ruined by not knowing what to load in your truck or SUV every time you trailer your boat? The good news is you don't have to be a mechanic. A few weeks back I blew a bearing on a 950 mile trip to my home waters of Cape Canaveral/Merritt Island because I skipped my annual trailer maintenance in 2018 and again in 2019 which was very poo...

    if the coolant temp sensor went bad then your coolant temp reading on the gauge wouldn't be corrected but it would have nothing to do with your car running hotter than normal.either fans were bad ( u said the front condenser fan didn't work) or the thermostat were stuck close.

    *The wheel is stylish and well made⚛️ **allabout.wiki/006BK** Be sure to buy the appropriate installation kit for your vehicle as well as the wheel. The installation was a bit fussy as you had to hold a spring in place prior to adding the horn button, (and keep it in place as you finished). Grant could work on that issue a bit.*

    I have a tundra 06’ 4.0L. Bought it with 34k miles in 09’. Had to have transmission replaced at 62k miles. Now,radiator/trans part cracked and contamination was done at 85k miles. Flushed,replaced radiator,cap,and thermostat. Kept shuddering. Replaced carrier bearing 5 times and all 3 u-joints twice. Flushed out 4 times at 8 gals.each flush,and still shuddering. This was my dream truck and bought it same day older lady traded it in. Guess I won’t do that anymore but love Toyota’s. Trading this one in soon for a 2020 Subaru Forrester. This truck made me insane.😎

    • @skiffman10
      @skiffman10 3 года назад

      Sorry to hear. I own 4, all used buys and 3 of 4 have 180k miles+. I've never had a single transmission issue ever and I tow heavy stuff thousands of miles. Are you towing a house around? Seems like it may have been wrecked to chew up Spicer U-joints AND the internal parts of a transmission. I can't hate on a Subaru but if your dream truck is a Suburu how is the next move an SUV?

    I just finished one wheel and after beating the living hell out of them I decided to see how others were doing it. Even with hitting it very hard I couldn't get a 90 degree bend.

    • @skiffman10
      @skiffman10 3 года назад

      Great question. You have to use the heat like the cheap $10 torch. Put the pads in the caliper, heat the tabs, and use a 3lb hammer. Kodiak has a video where they bend the non-stainless with plyers. That 100% will not work with the stainless. I've done 8 pads total now. Same situation.

    • @skiffman10
      @skiffman10 3 года назад

      Read my previous but be careful not using heat. I destroyed a pad doing what you did. You can mangle the tab but you won't accomplish 90 degrees. Hope that helps.
